About the Annual Meeting
The Annual Meeting of the ÖGAI is the most important gathering of up to 300 basic and translational researchers and physicians from all over Austria to discuss their most recent findings.
This years' meeting will take place in Vienna and the scientific program covers basic and clinical immunology, infectious diseases, immune therapies as well as basic and clinical allergology. These topics will not only be addressed by outstanding international speakers but also by young scientists who will have the opportunity to present and discuss their work in oral and poster presentations, since supporting young talents is one of the main issues of this society.
The Austrian Society of Allergology and Immunology (ÖGAI) - www.oegai.org - represents all scientists and physicians in Austria working in the field of basic and clinical Allergology and Immunology.
The main focus of the ÖGAI emphasizes the advancement of a better understanding about the immune system, the consequences of immune dysfunctions and the improvement of treatment and prevention of immune-mediated diseases. Therefore, the ÖGAI fosters basic as well as translational research and also implementation into the clinics.
Furthermore, the ÖGAI supports excellence with respect to training and exercise within the topics Allergology and Immunology and serves as mediator and authority regarding specific information on the immune system and its multiple dysfunctions, i.e. allergy, autoimmunity, immunodeficiency for non-specialists, public authorities and experts.
